Aging in Place: The Honest Truth

As the holidays grow near, many of us will be traveling to visit our aging relatives who we may not see as often during the rest of the year.  When you do so, take the time to enjoy spending that time with your loved ones, but also take the time to consider and re-assess their safety and living environment.  The goal of many Americans is to age at home, but there may come a time when it is no longer safe for them to do so, at least not without some help and precautionary measures in place.  Instead of waiting until a crisis occurs, take the time to have this discussion now and re-assess your loved one’s situation as needed, but at least annually.
