Think Avoiding Taxes is the Only Reason for a Will?

If you think avoiding taxes is the only reason to have a Last Will & Testament or other estate planning documents, you may want to reconsider that thought.

Although the estate tax exemption has risen to great heights, meaning most Americans will not have a taxable estate when they pass, that does not preclude the need for a Last Will & Testament and other assorted estate planning documents.  Even if you have a Last Will & Testament, don’t assume that you and your family are “covered.”

You need to review your estate plan every few years to ensure it still comports with existing laws and your wishes.  Life changes every day and you need to ensure you estate plan continues to evolve with you.
