Curbing Alzheimer’s Wandering

For families with loved ones who are living with Alzheimer’s disease, one of the real fears is their loved one’s inopportune wandering spells which may lead to frightening consequences.  In the early stages of Alzheimer’s, wandering may not be a daily or even a weekly concern, but that’s not a reason to forget about the potential for a wandering spell to occur at any moment.  Instead, family members should keep such tendencies top-of-mind, due to the personal safety concerns attendant with wandering, and develop strategies of how to handle and hopefully minimize a loved one’s wandering.
